FILE-OPEN and browse to one of the supported file types like .mov. MPEG1, 2 and 4, FLV or DV-avi.

Select the workspace for video to make an easy start.

What kind of edits do you want to make? Cuts can be made from the menu on top of the timeline. Adjustment layers can be added as usual. Effects are a little bit more work.

I’m using Photoshop CS4 Extended & have Latest Quicktime on Windows Vista. When I try to open any kind of Video file I get the message “Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document.”

Am I doing something wrong? I understand from watching the Lynda.com training that Quicktime is required by Photoshop Extended to Edit Video but I have Quicktime installed.

I hope this is the right kind of question for this forum.

    Thank you for your help
