How to make Truss structures with Cinema 4D?
Hello Folks!
I am trying to do in C4D Some “Truss” structures, I have to recreate some kind of stage but i have no idea of how to do some trusses properly.
I could say it is about using the cloner object with some cylinders but i still can not get it!
Any help would be appreciate. Thanks in advance!
I am using C4D R12.

Hmm clonners would be first way to try it, which might still work well depending on what your going for.
Some other options might be to try the atom array object and mess with the setting so it doesn’t have the spheres at the points.
You also may want to look in to using the tracer. That combined with sweeps nurbs, circle and some splines might lead you to a interesting structure.
I vaguely remember seeing some plugin a files setup that would work well for this but I can’t seem to find it. If it if I do I will be sure to link it up.

*Create the the shape you want with a cube or what ever.
*Add segments so it looks nice.
*Make it editable.
*In the functions menu select triangulate.
*Get a cylinder turn off caps make it smaller…
*Get a cloner object
*Set the cloner to object Mode (rather than linear)
*Change the Cloners distribution to EDGE
*Adjust the cylinder to fit right./Randy
