  • How to make title text appear at different times?

    Hi

I use Sony Vegas 12, and I want to animate title texts by having different parts of the title appear at different times.

For example, I have several words on the final frame of the title animation, but I don’t want them to come out at the same time. They’re also placed on different parts of the frame, so that has to be considered as well.

What I do right now is to just create different layers, and each word having an independent media clip thing, but I’m about to make a title with eight elements, and I don’t want to have to make seven more layers than necessary. Is there something on Sony Vegas 12 that I can use to make this happen?

I’ve scoured the Internet all night, but I haven’t found a way to make this kind of animation happen. All I’ve found was how to make titles move. I’m afraid this has been a simple task the entire time, and it just went over my head.

    Thank you very much!

There’s probably several ways to do it. But if you are concerned about making new layers, you could create your title and mask out all the words you don’t want to show right away. On the first keyframe that comes with the mask, right click and set it to “hold.” Then create a key frame for the mask where you want the first word to appear (it should inherit the “hold”). Adjust the mask shape to reveal the first word. Do the same for the remaining words.
