How to make the Power Rangers Samurai Morph effect?
I’m working on a short superhero movie for a film production class and I was wanting to make this specific effect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YC57eBpzUyY (Only the first 13 seconds where they write the graffiti).

i’d probably create the letters/characters in photoshop and separate each stroke as a separate layer (it would be easier to do that part in photoshop than in ae).
then i’d bring the layered psd file into ae as a comp (choosing cropped layers when it asks). then you could work in the comp that gets imported, you just bring the layers into the final comp (if you are timing to footage, i’d bring/copy-paste the layers into the comp with the footage)… either way you’ll add the linear wipe effect to each layer, animating the transition property to wipe each layer on (of course setting the angle as needed).
