  • How to make liquid shoot out of bottle.

    Hi Guys

I am working on something where I need ketchup to shoot out of a bottle. I know I can use Mercury and liquify together to create this effect, but was wondering if anyone had a different way to create this kind of effect.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks

It depends on how realistic you want it to look. You might also be able to use a particle system, such as the built-in ones that come with AE, or Particular. By shoot out, do you mean not the standard “slow” pour you get in reality?

I am looking to do a violent squirt, like if you stepped on a plastic ketchup bottle.

A practical effect like Dave suggested may be the way to go- but then again, it all depends on the look/style of your project. It may be that even a 2d animated squirt may work, in which case Newton may help you. You can also make that volumetric if you combine Newton with ShapeShifter AE.
