  • How to make a mograph selection on a clone within a cloner, within a cloner

    So basically heres my setup.

I have modelled a sphere to look like a human cell.

I put that cell into a cloner set to linear and put the count to 10.

Then i drew a wavy spline.

Created another cloner and placed the previous cloner into this cloner. I set its mode to object, I then place the spline into the cloner’s object spot.

So I end up with as many cells as I want in both directions, sloping to a spline.

Now what I’d like to do is replace a couple of these cloned cells with some animated ones i’ve made.

So i’d like to either remove a couple of these cells (could be to just turn of their visibility).

But when I make a mograph selection, it only allows me to pick from the 1 strip. I.e the strip that they are being cloned of. If I pick 1 of these cells from the strip, whatever I do affects the entire row.

Unfortunately you can’t make a selection of subclones, so that’s not going to work.

What I would do is make multiple variations of the sub cloner and then set the parent cloner to random mode.

    Example: 4196_randomnested.c4d.zip
