  • How to link two audio tracks so that key frame work applies to both ?

    Hello folks,

Coming from FCP I was used to be able to change levels of audio with key frames on 2 mono clips which were linked. One change would apply to both when linked. I now have in my Premier Pro CC timeline 2 stereo tracks that are linked and that I paned (L & R) all the way. Is there a way to play with keyframes on one and have them apply to both clips/tracks ?

    Thanks !

Create a submix track, open the Audio Mixer, and change mapping for the two desired tracks from “Master” to “Submix 1”. You can then insert keyframes directly on the submix in the timeline panel.

    Thank you Ivan.
Would that workflow compromise things down the line such as OMF exports ? Indeed, my project will be fine mixed by a sound designer. I will bring a OMF. Does making submix generate problems down the road if we work in other software such Pro Tools ? Thanks

I do not have experience with that workflow; perhaps others can comment. Try processing a short test file to identify any issues.
