How to import R3D video along with audio?
Hi!
This is the first time I work with RED footage so please bear with me.
My issue is that when I import the footage (I DO have Red Apple Workflow suite installed) into FCPX, audio and video are separate clips. I also have dual system audio from a Zoom I need to sync with this, but obviously for that I need the camera audio married to video in the first place.
Also, when I try importing the same footage into Premiere CC, I get just the video with no obvious option to even import the corresponding WAV in the first place. The R3D and WAV files do have the same names in the Finder level and both play alright.
One more thing – when I try to load the same stuff into REDCine-X Pro app, all the camera audio files show as OFFLINE for whatever reason.
I’m probably missing something obvious. Please help.

Do all video and audio have matching tc, including double system audio?
If so use Sync-N-Link X to marry all the audio and video:

The camera audio has matching TC, yes. For the double system audio I want to use Pluraleyes. So the not inexpensive Sync-n-link is the only way to do that, save for manually pairing audio and video files FROM THE SAME SOURCE (Red)? That seems really weird.

Indeed it does seem weird, especially if red cine x is having trouble. At least sync-n-link would allow you to sync the audio and start working. Are you sure there was camera audio at all?
RCX also has a sync function but it’s not as convenient as sync-n-link as you have more metadata options with sync-n-link.

Yes I’m sure. There are always pairs of R3D and WAV files like this:
A009_C001_012384_001.R3D
A009_C001_012384_A01_001.WAVBoth play fine on their own.

But the audio doesn’t play in RCX?

No, they don’t. Look:
All audio files are offline. These are the camera audio files, NOT the dual system files from the Zoom.

When I add any of these video files to the RCX Project, there’s an “loading audio file” popup, so I guess these do get automatched, but no audio is playing anyway.
EDIT: I see a “This audio file doesn’t contain a valid BWF format, aborting read”.

I don’t know exactly what is going on, but it seems something is wrong with the audio files.
What I would do is skip those, and move to the zoom files, get them synced up and start the edit.
There is a “Reconnect” function in RCX, does that work with the audio files if you right click them?

You mean sync the Zoom files manually by clapper? Because I can’t obviously use Pluraleyes and Zoom files don’t have corresponding TC ☺

The zoom files don’t have tc? Yikes.
Then yes, you’d have to it by clapper. RCX has a method for this too by setting audio and video slates.
