  • How to have two characters continually holding hands while dancing

I have two characters dancing together side by side, holding hands. I need their hands to stick together and the IK rigs for both of their arms to respond properly when the characters are moving closer or further, etc. Ive tried coming up with a solution but nothing works without destroying my hierarchies. What is the proper way to achieve this?

I would think you could use the same IK goal for both hands, or use two and group them in a null.

Thanks Adam, how do I accomplish either one of those without destroying my hierarchies?

One way to do it would be to drive the position/rotation IK goals with a null outside of your controller hierarchy, using a constraint tag or Xpresso.

    Perfect! Thanks Adam.

I found this great tutorial on constraint tags: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTDRdeGqXxY
