August 19, 2009 at 9:20 pmWAIT ! This is NOT what I did.
When I do YOUR test, I get the same results like yours ( I think). I can reopen the project, then press “TrackFX” and I see the color correction dialog box, with the settings I previously selected (No FX chain though, maybe because I only have 1 FX).
What I had said is:
Select Color-Correction from the upper left corner of the screen. Then I loose the settings. -

Also in that case you should be able to save your project and reopen it without loosing the possibility to adapt the FX. In version 8, this works fine…
Maybe a bugg in Vegas 9? Are you working already with the 9a update? (which is not yet perfect, update 9b is expected in less then 10 days).

I was dragging the “preset” to the right, right on top of the PREVIEW screen. I guess this created the problem. When I dragged it to the Track or the event, it still worked as you said.
I don’t know if I have 9a. The ABOUT page says 9.0.
THANK YOU.

OK, now I understand! This is not a bug. Everyting works as it should. When you drag the effect onto the preview screen, you add it to the whole project (all events on all tracks).
To find and adapt this effect, go to the menu bar:
VIEW
Select VIDEO BUS TRACK (or simply press Ctrl Shift B)
A new track (the output track, called VIDEO) appears at the bottom of the timeline.
In the trackheader of this track select the FX button. In the popup window, you find the FX you have applied to the whole project…Theo

August 19, 2009 at 9:54 pmOk Theo. Glad to know I am not crazy and that I don’t have faulty vegas.
Just closed it. Too tired to test it now. Will do tomorrow.
Thanks again.
