How to get to the text Inspector with only using a keyboard.
Hi. I am trying to do subtitling and the easiest and fastest way I can figure it out is to just do one long line of text, split each clip into a sentence as the subject speaks but each time I start a new sentence, I have to use my mouse to click in the text portion of inspector where the text box is in order to start typing. This is really time consuming. Is there a way I can just start typing once I highlight (command and left/right keys) and then finish and move on to the next word clip without having to use the mouse or track pad? thank you.How to get to the text Inspector with only using a keyboard.

Not that I know of, because FCPX is not set up to do manual transcriptions. Why not use a service like Rev to do the transcode, then import that into FCPX, and simply tweak what’s automatically there?

Many of those services do language translations. But if you need to do it yourself for some reason, FCP is going to be clunky and there you have it.
