how to get this effect?
Posted by Joe Tavola on June 21, 2011 at 5:02 pmUsing Vegas Pro 9 how would i create this effect from this video clip.. fast forward to 1:35. Can someone provide step by step? Pretty sure some masking is involved but no clue how. I know how to freeze the frame just want to know how to add the effect afterwards.

June 22, 2011 at 2:21 pmThat effect can be don within Vegas but it will be tedious. These are the steps:
1- capture a png of the last frame and edit in Photoshop removing everything you don’t want.
2- put the edited picture on the timeline and use pan/crop to slide it over using keyframes.
3- add a background color.
4- using a mask in event pan/crop add some slashes of paint.Jeff

June 22, 2011 at 11:45 pmI would clarify that without Photoshop it would be tedious. And, in step 4 to add the swashes of color you’ll need some more layers of color with masking or some prepared png graphics to reveal.

June 23, 2011 at 5:08 pmYes, you could do it in the pan/crop window by creating a mask. Mask the frame capture. I prefer Photoshop for this.
