how to get things back to normal
Hi new to AVID and managed to mess things up. I was using the training videos from AVID’s site. In chapter one there was a lesson on how to retrieve a clip after changing it. However, when I imported the clip from the attic after copying it to the desktop, it was the same changed clip not the one before the change. Yes, I imported the oldest clip in the attic folder.
After several attempts nothing was working so I wanted to start again with the lesson.
So I deleted everything I could find of the project: the media on my media drive, the project folder in my documents folder and the project folder in the attic. Apparently this was a mistake. After reinstalling the files from AVID’s zip folder, the project does open in avid as it was. However, there is now nothing in the attic except whatever changes I make. None of the bins are there except the one I change. How do I get things back to normal? And what is the proper way to delete a project?
Also, I wonder if I had followed the directions correctly but some setting was wrong so that changes were not being archived correctly in the attic.
If need be, I’ll reinstall everything. If I take this path, what is the correct way to uninstall AVID so as to do a clean install of the app? There is a fatal error log if that will help you help me.
