  • How to get sound to play on my computer speakers?

Posted by Mattole on February 4, 2007 at 7:54 am

I am running FCP 5.1.2 with a DV camera as my tape deck and an external hard drive for my data. For some odd reason I cannot get sound playback when I am in Log and Capture. Once I capture a clip and put it into the timeline then the clip audio can be heard through the computer, but not until… Any ideas what may be going on? Many thanks.

if its DV then look under the Clip Settings tab in the Log and Capture window … check the “Preview” checkbox next to the audio settings
if its HDV then this Preview function is not available… you will need to hook speakers up to the source deck.

    cheers
