  • How to get Fast Imports with single frame animations out of AE

    Hi guys

i have been testing the meridean codec as of late, and rendered some widescreen interlaced footage out of AE (RGB 0-255, PAL, 3:1 interlaced, Upperfield. 720×576 widescreen pix) and imported it into Avid, with the Import settings set to 601, non square, Upperfield, RGB, and use files resolution checked, and my footage flew in. I was so surprised when i saw it say fast import quicktime.

I tried the same file with the same settings, but rendered as frames out of AE, and used the 3:1 progressive setting, imported into AVID as non-interlaced, and checked the “use files resolution” setting, but it did not come in as a fast import…..

I then tried the export setting out of AE Meridian codec, 4:1s single field, same settings, but it would not render and popped up a warnimg “compressing frame of movie – QUicktime codec error”

Im guessing the last one may be because my comp settings are wrong… any ideas if that is correct….

Im happy i worked out the interlaced fast import setting, but i want to get the single frame fast import for our animations…

I have the latest codecs for Avid Quicktime.

    Thanks
    Chris

    Hey guys

i really need some advice on this….

how can i take advantage of the fast import with this setting. I have used the 3:1 interlaced export setting and that took advantage of the fast import, but when i have used the 3:1 progressive in the same project, it doesn’t work.

What can i be doing wrong?

I dont know much about Avid, but all my work ends up being imported into one, and the compression time is taking too long when i import.

    Thanks for your time
    Chris
