  • How to get clips to open in source monitor at same point as timeline

    Hi,

In Final Cut, when you have the CTI at a certain point on a clip in the timeline, and then double click the clip to open it in the source monitor, the clip opens with the source CTI at the same frame as it was in the timeline.

In PP, it only seems to do this the first time you load a clip into the source monitor. If you then move the CTI, and reload the clip, it doesn’t open the clip at the right place.
If you close the clip from the source monitor, it works, but this doesn’t seem right.

    Is this a bug?

Match Frame, “F” should open the clip in the Source Monitor with the playhead at the same point every time. It will also have the In & Out points selected. If you move the playhead in the sequence it should also move in the Source Monitor. I don’t think the effects on the clip in the Timeline travel to to the Source Monitor.
    hope that helps,

    Victor

If you have several tracks in use make sure the same track as the clip is selected.
