How to Flip Stereo audio tracks in Vegas Pro 9?
I need to flip the audio channels from a video recording in Sony Vegas Pro 9 (ie make the left channel the right one and vice-versa).
Did a quick search here and found an answer to a separate issue which said to right-click and then select a Process option to do the flip, but I get no such option.
Can anyone point me to how to do this?

Right-click on an audio clip and select Channels > Swap.

Alas, that seems to be seriously broken in my version 9.0c
Although it DOES flip the tracks (as indicated visually) the audio also gets totally messed up by suddenly switching to slow motion (voices get much deeper and audio is so slow it’s unintelligible).Very weird. And very annoying! 🙁

Just for this question, I cranked up 9.0c and swapped tracks. I could not hear any difference at all. More details on hardware and format might give some clues (I was testing with a DV source file).

Same here other than the tracks were actually swapped. This should work for you. I would check the audio event properties and make sure that the stretch method is set to None.

The input was MX2 from Sony XDCam. Properties says Audio is Linear PCM, 48000Hz, 16 bit, 4 channels.
I’ve checked and the only event property ticked is “Loop” (I unticked this one just to make sure it wasn’t messing anything up but it’s made no difference).
Time/Stretch Method: None

Interestingly, a separate audio track containing Digital Juice audio (ie imported from DVD) can have the channels swapped fine. It’s only the audio track that came from the Sony PMW-EX1 (rendered from Sony Clip Browser) that totally borks.
I’ve got a deadline to meet so it’s just going to have to go out with the audio the wrong way round.

No need for that to happen.
Duplicate the problem track, right-click and select left only on one and right only on the other.
Now pan the left only track hard right and the right track only hard left. -
