  • How to find an offensive clip in a big FCP project (not finder…)

    Hi.

I have a rather biggish FCP project I’m working on.

After CC’ing in color I get this message when I open it

“The movie file 59_g1.mov Copy1 cannot be found. Witjout this file, the movie cannot play properly”

Which is fine… ‘cept from FCP going into a loop where this message comes up and up and up and up.

The file is nowhere to be found through Finder….

I cannot find where the file is hidden in FCP.

Is there a way to get a list of all used clips and in which bin/sequence they are used?

Why don’t you search in the Color’s Renders?

    Mac OX 10.5.2-FC 6.02-QT 7.4.1
    G5 2x2Gh 4GbRAM-BlackMagic Extreme
    PMBP 17″Core2Duo 4GbRAM-AJA ioHD
    JVC DTV-17″
    SONY EX-1 . SONY PD170
..and always a big mess on top of the table.

    Have done. It’s not there.

The problem is within the FCP project…

    Thanks!

Well, it’s shot 59 (as far as Color was concerned anyway) – it could be the 59th shot from the beginning, but I think Color counts a little differently sometimes.

Open up the Color project, look in the Shot list and it will show you what shot 59 is.

If you haven’t monkeyed with the sequence in Color too much it might be best to Send To FCP again from Color, assuming Color is still in touch with it’s renders.
