  • How to export Premiere Project to Vegas on another computer?

Posted by Sean Mcnally on August 3, 2015 at 9:16 pm

So I’ve got a premiere project on an editing lab computer that I’d like to finish up at home. I don’t have premiere at home, but I’ve got vegas, and would like to know how I can bring it over. I’m using CC 2014 and Vegas Pro 13, and the error exists where going file>import>prproj throws an error message. Tried AAF export and the “Project Manager” in Premiere, but it wants to find files that don’t exist. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Sean

Sounds like you need to clean up the Premier project before exporting to AAF.

You may need to save to a lower version of premier if possible, Vegas may not understand the very latest project files.

EDL is time honored, but has very strict requirements. EDL will get it done, but not have all the bells and whistles included, pretty much just cuts.

As Aaron said, unless you are doing cuts and dissolves only with no FX or titles or any generated media, this isn’t going to work like you want. I’m guessing that all of the media referred to in the project file are absolute paths so they need to be in the exact same place on your home computer as they are on your work computer. I also wonder if Adobe CC is even supported as Vegas Pro 13.0 came out around Adobe CS6.
