So I’d like to take my FCP project that has a bunch of digitized DV clips and export a version of the project, converting all the clips to lower rez video files… like offline video quality.

Is there a way to just choose File:Export:Low Rez Project?

Obviously that’s not the way, but how would I go about getting a duplicate project and low-rez duplicate video files so I can fit more on my disk and then move back to my high-rez clips for the final edit?

    Thanks!

Select everything in your Browser, then control click on one item to pull open the media manager.

From there select recompress, OfflineRT as the codec, a destination and also select create new project file… will do exactly what you want to do.
