    Hey Gang,

I know this may sound like a silly question, but is it possible to encode Apple ProRes files without Final Cut Studio? I’m using a PC and was wondering if Apple ever released this capability outside of their own software package.

Thanks a bunch in advance, and sorry if my question sounds rudimentary!

Nope. You can read ProRes on any Mac or PC with the latest Quicktime, but to encode you need FCS.
