It does work — having done it on several machines, I can export Motion JPEG A on all of them. This also enables a bunch of other less-useful legacy codecs, including H.261, Sorenson Video, and Planar RGB.

If it’s not working for you, there must be something else wrong with your system. I suggested trying it under a new user account as a troubleshooting step, but you might also try the usual system maintenance steps.

All that said, it sounds like Tom’s suggesting of exporting a reference movie and using MPEG Streamclip will get the job done very easily.

Thanks Walter, good to know that someone did get it working. It tried it on two different stations and neither one has enabled the legacy codecs. I’ll talk to IT here and see what could be our issue.

Finally got it working. We reloaded QT7 from the install disk and then enabled the codecs at terminal level.

They are all there.
