How to embed photos for use as custom brushes in Illustrator CS11 and then make custom brushes in CS11?
Currently trying to use small png format photos to make my own brushes.
I get error: “The selected artwork contains an element that cannot be used in a pattern brush.”
When I try and drag the photos into the brush section to make new brushes.
I tried embedding the photos but that doesn’t seem to work either.
Is there an easier way to embed photos for use as well? -

I believe you have to trace and expand them so that they become vector images first.

Yes I tried that too but every time I try and paste it over it just comes up with that error. The images are embedded format as they require.

Thanks everyone but I found out this isn’t possible with this version of Illustrator.
