  • How to draw nice curves with the brush tool – Help!

Posted by Deborah on January 12, 2006 at 12:08 pm

With the pen tool it is very easy to create nice and rounded curves thanks to “bezier”. It is also easy to create circular or rectangolar shapes.

My question is: How can I do the same when using the brush? What can I do if I want to draw a perfect circle just with the brush?
So far with this tool I am able to draw only hand made lines (not very precise).

    Thanks for your help!

Maybe we can go about this another way: would it solve your problem if you could draw nice bezier lines with the pen tool, then apply effect>render>stroke to the drawn mask and animate the stroke’s end point?

i have your solution. it is on the sapphire plug-ins website. here is the link. https://www.genarts.com/tutorial-ae/S_LensFlare.htm

all you have to do, is instead of drawing a path with the pen tool, use the circle mask tool to create a circle mask. and then use that to copy as a the “Mask Shape” to paste into the “Brush position” as referred to in the tutorial.
