How to do motion Silhouette in SOny Vegas?
I am looking to do a Silhouette effect to a video of myself *bopping* my head. If you fast forward to about 1:15 into the video below, I would like a Silhouette effect like the head boppin. Can this be done in Sony vegas?

If you shoot your bobbing head video in front of a green or blue background, you can key our the green or blue, save as uncompressed with alpha channel. By the way there is no video in you post to look at. Danny Hays

You can shoot against any high contrast background (like a white wall) and then add the Sony Mask Generator to the clip and it will create a black and white mask that is essentially a silhouette.

Does it have to be a high contrast background?
I really don’t have anything like that.
Would there be a way for me to just edit out the background in the video and still do a Silhouette w/o a high contrast Background?

Place the Mask Generator on a video and play with it. You’ll see what it does and figure out what kind of background to use. What you are looking for is contrast because of how the Mask Generator works. It will become obvious once you start playing with it.
Otherwise use chroma key like Danny suggested. All you need is a green poster board to put behind your head. It shouldn’t cost more than $3 at a school supply shop.
