How to do an highlither effect on an image with text?
I have a black background with white text, how can I do an hightlighter effect so it turns white and the letters turn black?
I achieved this more or less with 2 layers
Layer 1: white solid
Layer 2: the image with the text parented to layer 1I just stretch the white solid so it covers the text with keyframes, and I use the “Difference squared” mode on the white solid layer but this causes that the image becomes a bit too dark. Any ideas?

Hello!
If your goal is to create a highlighter effect you do NOT need to use Difference Squared.
A much simpler approach is:
1. Create a colored rectangle (for example yellow) behind the text.2.Animate the rectangle so it moves across the text using keyframes.
3. Duplicate your text layer and place the copy above the rectangle.
4. Change the top text color to black and use a mask so the black text is only visible where the highlighter passes.
This gives the effect of the text changing from white to black as the highlight moves over it, without darkening the background.
