  How to do an highlither effect on an image with text?

  I have a black background with white text, how can I do an hightlighter effect so it turns white and the letters turn black?
  I achieved this more or less with 2 layers
  Layer 1: white solid
  Layer 2: the image with the text parented to layer 1

  I just stretch the white solid so it covers the text with keyframes, and I use the “Difference squared” mode on the white solid layer but this causes that the image becomes a bit too dark. Any ideas?
