Look at “Using the Mocca ClothHilde to simulate basic dynamics.” on this page https://www.hypa.tv/tims/download.html

or use Dynamics. If you don’t have Dynamics or Mocca it’s tougher but someone may know some other way.

I see. Well his explanation (translated from Japanese to english) here https://translate.google.com/translate?u=https://motion-design.jp/dice.htm
says he was using MEL script to control the direction and speed of the die. Xpresso (maybe it would have to be COFFEE) is the thing alright. Linear travel would be linked to rotation (like a wheel rolling along (that’s an easy script) but for the dice to roll it goes up and down as well as it rolls from flat side to flat side over a corner in-between. So a repeating up and down motion would have to be added to the simple “this much travel means this much rotation” script. I would build it like that start with the rotation then add the vertical component later. Or maybe a better way would be to put the dice in a null and add the vertical to that so it would be easier to roll up and not just along (if you wanted to do the same sort of thing he does).
