  • How to determine color depth of my video

Posted by Jeremy Hansen on July 23, 2013 at 8:11 pm

    Hello,

I’m trying to determine the color depth of my source video file. My DP upgraded his Sony FS700 to shoot at 10-bit color depth in S-Log and shot me over a file to determine if the upgrade worked and if the file was in fact at a 10-bit color depth. I’ve looked around but I don’t see any video information display anywhere that simply tells me the color depth of the source file. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    – Jeremy

Thanks for the tip. I bought the app and ran my clip through it, but I don’t see color depth information in there:

    [Jeremy Hansen] “Format : ProRes”

    ProRes is always 10-bit.
