i’m using two video tracks. i know if you move the frame a black space appears and the frame on the track under it fills that space.

pretty much what i want to do is have one half of the shot to be colored differently then the other half of the shot.

[john laty] “i’m using two video tracks. “

These are both Identical? And you just want to Colour the Left or the Right half?

You can do it that way and apply the color change to either of the tracks, or both, so each half will then appear different.

i can’t do it that way. because when i use the video pan and crop tool and i try to cut the shot in half. the half shot is always placed in the center of the screen. so the black spaces are on the left and right of it. i want the black space to be on the left or right side of the screen, so it can be filled up by the track under it.

    sorry for the late reply

You can use Track Motion to “move” the cut section.

Does Vegas 9 have Pan & Crop with a mask? If so, that is all you need for one way of doing it.
