  • How to create materials that work with physically based shader maps?

Ive found a few tutorials and have used reflections channels with specular maps to create ok results, however not desired. I’m exporting maps from substance painter (for maps ive tried spec, gloss, roughness) with different settings however the render isn’t quite getting there and I was wondering if anyone has had experience creating materials in Cinema 4d using these kind of exported maps for physically based materials. (I’m actually using cinema4d lite, its integration with after effects is why im trying to create physically based style materials in cinema 4d instead of another program.) So does anyone have experience with this? i haven’t found many resources on the subject and would appreciate some advice or any tutorials.
