What is the best software for doing screen capture/video tutorials for After Effects? Also, how do you create the expanding red circle highlight on mouse clicks that you see in most popular tutorials? Is that windows or a function of the screen cap utility? I need to make several tutorials for my students, and I have a fairly powerful HP 8400, quad core xeon.

    thanks

    There are four answers:

    1. Mac = Snapz

    2. Windows = Camtasia

    3. In the links that are just below your post’s text body, there are links called “Related THreads” and there are answers there.

    4. The search engine can be used for “screen capture” and “creating tutorials” and other related keywords.

Camtasia is the king and I highly recommend it. However, if money is tight, try the free open-source CamStudio:
