  • How to Create a Border Frame for a Video?

Posted by Kenny Mosher on April 24, 2009 at 1:56 pm

I am trying to create a scene with video frames that look similar to 4×6 pictures with white frames. How do I add a white frame to videos that have been loaded into the color and alpha channels of a thin cube? My cube dimensions are:
    X 718m
    Y 2.8m
    Z 404m.

It would be cool if I could make the video frames look like they are on a matte where the video would be inset into the cube a small amount, and there would be a frame bordering the video.
    Thanks for the help.

The easiest way to do it would be to give your plane a white material. Then drop your video material on the plane and set it’s texture tag to Flat projection. Then use the texture axis tool to scale the projection smaller than the plane. That’ll leave the white border around it.

How do I apply two materials to one object? Where do I find flat projection? Thanks Adam for your help, I really appreciate it.

Thanks so much Adam. The only thing I did different was use a cube as apposed to a plane. Thanks again

    Adam,
Do you know how to get rid of the jagged lines that appear around the border of the video frame? Thanks so much for you help!
