  • how to conform for printing HDV to tape

Posted by Brian Lindstrom on December 7, 2006 at 3:30 pm

    Hi:
It has been suggested that my inability to print my hdv project to tape was due to the fact that I didn’t do the seemingly exrra step of conforming. Can anyone tell me how to conform? And just to be clear, I don’t mind printing to mini-DV if necessary, although I’d prefer going to hdv.

    Thanks,
    Brian

i would just render out your entire sequence to an HDV file, then print that to hdv.

How do I render to an hdv file? When I try to print to tape, the computer automatically starts “conforming HDV”. Is this what David meant when he suggested I needed to conform first? I tried printing to tape using my Sony HVR-A1U as a deck (attempting both HDV and miniDV). Then I tried my old trusty TRV900 (miniDV). Still no luck.

Another possible solution I tried was converting to a QTmovie. But there is a sync problem.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Brian
