  • How to color match these two shots?

Posted by Sum Choi on February 5, 2013 at 4:13 am

I got two shots that I want to color match. I want the second one to look like the first one. As you can see, the second one is really really yellow and I’ve been tinkering with Fast Color Corrector and 3-way color corrector but with no success. I even tried to do automatic color match with FCPX but that looked horrible. Is there a solution to this?

Grab Colorista free from Red Giant, sit down, watch this and learn a skill https://editorslounge.com/2012.06%20color/jun2012-hullfish.html

A fast way to do it is applying Fast color corrector. Take the dropper for white balance and click in any “supposed to be” white surface in the image, for example one of the papers on the table, so Premiere can understand what is supposed to be pure white and then he can adjust the right white tone. Surely it will take the master color wheel to the blues, as you have a yellowish dominant in second shot. Do it with both images to achive similar white adjust in the two shots. At least both images will get a closer tone, so you can finesse manually the lights, shadows and midtones. Also i would adjust the levels in second shot as it is slightly dark.
