    hi..
    am new at FCP..
    i’d like to know how to change the capturing resolution low and high quality (uncompressed)…

    and is their a way where i can make batch capture list (assign many parts from one tape and leave them captured?as clips?

    If you capture via firewire from a DV camera, then you only have two options. DV/NTSC or DV/PAL, and Offline RT. DV is full resolution (simple data transfer, same quality as you have on the tape), and OFFLINE RT is lower resolution. If you want to capture as uncompressed, then you need a capture card like the AJA I/O, I/O LA, Kona LS, Decklink options. When you get those cards you have more capture options open to you.

    You can log the tape using the log and capture window, then use the BATCH CAPTURE feature to capture all those clips. THis is typically how it is done.
