  • how to capture multiple tapes?

I want to capture two tapes (several clips on each tape) that I’ve shot and have run into a TC issue.

I’m capturing the tapes from a consumer camcorder or a GL2 with FCP 5.1’s capture now (using different reel #s) and then using DV start/stop detect.

I want to make a collection of some of the raw video with TC on the screen. I want the TC displayed from the second tape to be unique by having a different number for hours in the TC.

How can I do this? The hours are 00 on each tape.

When you apply TC reader there is an offset. You can adjust it to start at the 1 or 2 hour mark. Move teh slider and magically watch the TC change.

TC reader effect doesn’t have an offset. While TC generator does, it seems to want to restart the TC at 0 with each clip. I want the TC from the source tape to be used. I just want to be able to offset some of the cips by an hour to make their TC unique.

    Is this possible?

    Yes,

on the burnin but not on the actual clip.

You could change the QT file TC info, but then you could never recapture it from teh source tapes.
