  • How to Capture from xbox and then play it back on xbox?

Posted by Leo Kimmel on November 6, 2011 at 9:13 am

    Hey guys,
I am interested in purchasing the Black Magic Intensity Pro card.
But I first want to understand how I would be able to play back the captured files
on my xbox 360. I would capture in the smaller compressed mjpeg file format.
Can this format play directly on xbox 360 either by streaming from pc or from direct playback from external usb hard drive?
Or would I have to convert it to another file format first?
If I have to convert first, does the included Media Express software have a convert feature allowing to convert to an xbox compatible file?
If not, any suggestions how this would be done?

I just purchased the Hauppauge Colossus capture card and when capturing from xbox I have to capture in .mp4 format, but the audio is out of sync. Its all messed up. I’ve tried converting and it ends up with no audio.

Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Leo,

You can play out the files directly from Media Express to your TV if you connect the HDMI output of the Intensity Pro card to your TV.

Unfortunately, Media Express does not have a convert feature. You’ll have to convert the captured files to a format that is Xbox compatible via a separate program. I’m sure there are lots of free applications that will do this.

    regards
