How to brightenin up skin colour in Final cut?
Posted by Rishi Kumar on December 15, 2009 at 9:25 pmHi Everyone I have a small Problem with this video I’m trying to edit. The background and everything is pretty well lit, however the people in the video are looking very dark. I was wondering if there is a way I could “pick” those skin colours and brighten them up a touch?
Thanks in advance!
Rishi

December 15, 2009 at 9:52 pmGo to the COW tutorials section, look for Rich Harrington’s tutorial on exactly how to do this. He walks you thru it step by step in the video, and more completely.

December 17, 2009 at 8:35 pmDefine “choppy.” It looks 100 times better to me with the color correction, however, Youtube isn’t the finest way to judge.
BTW, the Cow has video capabilities that are far better than Youtube quality.

December 17, 2009 at 10:50 pmIt does appear that the light source may be pulsating or flickering, but still tough to tell at the size and resolution of Web video.
Meanwhile, go to Sequence>>Settings and change the compressor to ProRes, and re-render. See if that helps at all.
Also, what is the original source, HDV or widescreen DV?

Slide the “Softness” slider in the Color Corrector farther to the right (softer.)
Then, re-render.
