Hi- I have an HD video clip with directions to a friend’s house on it…the HD picture is soo crisp you can read the whole page! I would like to blur out the text so that it is unintelligible. Oh…the page move around a little bit.

I have read through the apple tutorials and didn’t find any answers so I hope you can help me!?

Go generators menu (the A button in the lower right hand corner of the Viewer.)

    Choose shape > rectangle.

Edit this onto layer two, above the original shot,

Dupicate the original shot on layer three.

Apply a guassian blur to layer three.

Right click layer three and choose composite mode travel matte luma.

Double click shape on layer two and use the contols tab and motion tab in the viewer to distort and keyframe the shape to blur out the map.

If you need more motion tracking than you care to do by hand, take this project over to Motion 3, or After Effects.

Thanks Tom! I am pretty sure I know how to do all that… I’ll give it a shot!
