October 10, 2005 at 3:32 pmConoa doesn’t work because i need to use own camera and not that in conoas effect. And also I can’t do half circles which I need.

October 10, 2005 at 4:19 pmWhy not do it in a 3D app? That’s what they’re made for. If not, maybe map it in Invig inside AE.

October 10, 2005 at 4:25 pmWelcome to After Effects. 🙂 That’s the way it works. Any 3D effect just creates a “movie” of a 3D effect, “playing” on one of AE’s flat layers.
If you want true 3D, use a true 3D app, as Chris suggests.

October 10, 2005 at 6:00 pmThere’s just one problem. It takes very long to learn how to use 3dsmax and I dont have too much time for this project 🙁

October 10, 2005 at 6:37 pmWell then, get Cinema4D from Maxon — it’s not that hard to learn (for a 3D app) and is good for motion graphics. Call their customer service to find out about their $99 version.
Other than that … we can’t redesign After Effects. 🙂

October 10, 2005 at 6:44 pmBesides, you don’t need to learn the whole app. Just select the cylinder from the primitives options and map your graphic to it using cylindrical mapping.
