Hy everyone, I have a collection of family video that i have record with a jvc gr-dvl310 camcorder that work with minidv. I have premiere pro 2 as software and I want to archive my video on my computer to reuse my original minidv cassette.

I have try some capture in dv-avi put this format take huge place on my HDD ( about 250 Mb per minute of video ). I have about 30 minidv cassette… for about 30 hours of video.

I would like a way to keep theses on backup without having to buy a 1 terabyte HDD !! I can afford to lose some video quality in the process, but the less possible.

    What are you suggestions ?

    Thanks !

The most cost effective way is to buy new miniDV tapes and use the actual miniDV’s as your archive with maximum quality.
It is also safe, because if your harddisc breaks down you lose everything.
