  • How to apply Organic Mattes?

    Hi,
I know I did it once, but no chance today!
Can someone please advice me how I can apply an organic matte as alpha matte between two Images (layers) in PS CS? I know how to appy manual transitions by ALT-Click between the two layers and add a layer mask, but how to get the image with the matte into this layer-icon?

    regards,

Not sure I understadn your question, but it sounds like you need to copy the organic image you want to use as a matte to the clipboard. Go to the layer you wish to matter and create a new layer mask, click on the layer mask, and paste your clipboard contents into the layer mask, then click back into your artwork.

Thanks for reply. You described exactly what I want to do. But if I copy the mask imager into the layer mask, PS created a new layer with it.
Does an image for a layer mask need to have a specific format or size to go into the layer mask?
