  How to apply a layer mask to an effect (layer style)

  Hello,
  I want to attenuate a layer’s effect (layer style) via a mask. How do I do this? Can I use a mask other then the layer mask? What I mean is can I have one mask for the layer and another for each effect applied to the masked layer.
