  • HOW TO ADD PULLDOWN TO 24P QUICKTIME

Posted by Jim Blokland on March 29, 2006 at 1:57 pm

    Hello:

I need to add pulldown to a 24P sequence (master) to be able to intercut it with other 29.97 material in a 29.97 timeline. Don’t seem to see how to do this via CinemaTools.

    Real world advice appreciated.

    Best, JIM.

    Also, to clarify…

Ideally, I would like to add 2:3:2:3 pulldown. If I export the 24P sequence and bring a 24P Quicktime back into a 29.97 sequence, it seems to render it out in a 2:2:2:4 pattern (which is not very smooth for fast motion stuff).

    Thanks in advance.

    JIM.

    Hi Graeme:

I suspected as much just after I posted this question. I did give it a quick try, but I was wondering which setting (I believe there are 5 patterns to choose from) is correct to mimic a 3:2 pulldown?

    Thanks again.

    Best, JIM.

    Any!

The patterns just govern which is the first frame in the sequence, but the cadence produced is always 3:2
