I understand how to add multiple transitions across clips that follow each other along the timeline, but what about getting these transitions to apply to the beginnings and ends of clips that aren’t touching other clips? That is, the video would fade to black since nothing else is there. I’m coming from Final Cut Pro where applying multiple transitions includes the heads and tails of isolated clips, but I haven’t found a way to make Premiere do the same thing.

    Thanks for your help!

Adding multiple transitions is only possible with double sided transitions: but to but.
For single sided transitions you will have to use PGUP/DOWN and Ctrl+D for video track and Shift+Ctrl+D for audio.
