I apologize if this is in the wrong thread, but I couldn’t find the perfect one. I’m an editor with about 5 years of experience. I’m fluent in FCP and getting to know Motion. I’ve just started taking clients at home and moving into promo work. I’ve got a new client who wants a 2-minute promo comprised entirely of stills. I will be helping him write and develop the promo as well as editing it. It’s ultimately for delivery on the web. Can someone tell me what the going rates for someone with my experience are for a project like this one and what a comfortable time frame would be to knock this out?

    Thanks.

We have a Business and Marketing forum with a lot of discussions on what to charge.

Whatever your hourly rate is, you figure out how many hours it will take you to complete the project. We can’t tell you because we have no idea what your skill level is with the type of project you’re about to do. I would need a lot more information from the client before I gave any sort of a quote and whatever the quote, it would be an estimate. Client would be billed for actual time worked.
