how much detail in camera, how much sharpening post
Hi I wonder what settings of the detail you use in camera. I would be very nice if you could post som tga or tiff still grabs if possiblie. I can add sharpening in post but it will also bump up the grain intensy. You can degrain and then sharpening but I think it still bump up the grain abit…How is your work flow?
Since i got a panasonic pro plasma my hvx200 footage “start” looking very soft. Before I used an sony consumer lcd tv/monitor to out put throw aja kona from fcp. But the sony was 17″ and the panasonic is 42″ so ofcourse it will be a bit softer but not this much i guess.

Normally, I don’t mess with the detail settings our our camera. I use Panasonic scene files. Haven’t have any issues with softness when the picture was properly focused. One time we lowered the detail to match a second camera that was much older and softer.

How are you viewing it? I mean what cables are connected? And how and to where?

I connected the component (YPbPr) output of the kona lhe to the panasonic TH-42PF11EK component (YPbPr)output.
I shoot mostly cinelike d cause i like the look of it.
