  • How long is Merge Events supposed to take?

Hi! I made a mistake of Merging two events (one with almost 4000 ProRes clips, one with roughly 400 clips) and now it’s taking forever with “Preparing to process…”. It’s a Mac Pro with G-Speed Q RAID connected via eSATA and files are stored OUTSIDE the Events folder.

How long could this take? I’m annoyed because I cannot edit and I don’t want to force quit FCPX either. Thanks!

So it took 2 hours. And now folders in the resulting Events are missing. OMG.

Ouch! Make sure you report that to Apple via the feedback form.

hmm..I have merged before. The problem is their is no indication what´s going on and how long it will take (e.g. how many percent are done). But eventually usually it works.

Is the event empty? did FCP create new one on another drive?
