January 28, 2009 at 1:09 pmUm, turned it on.
LCD’s need to warm up for 30 minutes to come to correct temp each day.
I haven’t noticed the plasma needing a warm up or break in period. We use the Panny Pro Plasmas and they’re ready to go out of the box.

January 28, 2009 at 3:29 pmI mean like on https://www.eaprogramming.com/ and then click on the image plasma break in dvd.
“Just got that new plasma TV? Did you know that Plasma TV manufacturers suggest a 100-200 hour break in period? The first 100-200 hours is the time that your Plasma TV is most susceptible to burn in (learn more about burn-in Here at AVS Forums!). ”

“Never heard of this website, never heard of anything called a plasma break in dvd. No clue, we have 4 plasmas here, never needed a “break in dvd.”

January 28, 2009 at 4:24 pmI think that break in period is really the period before you can calibrate it. Use it for about two weeks all day every day and then calibrate it. You should be fine. If you aren’t editing that much, then wait three or four weeks.

I calibrate it by eye against our broadcast Sony CRT monitor.
No screensaver.
I have the wobble on, though sometimes it can be disconcerting and we’ll turn it off when making a long playback.
