I would like to do something similar to this, how is this done? My idea was to start with a camera on the vector silhouette up close with an all white blinding light background shooting out over his silhouette. then the camera would quickly start to move away from the vector image, staying fixed on the vector though, revealing the door slowly widening while the camera races back revealing a long completely black room just like in this video, then my company text would dropped suddenly from the top landing with a loud thud in front of the camera in bright/bold colors. Where can I learn how to do the overflowing light like that?

    thanks for any help?

It looks like the overflowing light may be just an animated radial blur. Try making two copys of your animation. Keep the bottom one unblurred for the sharp edges of the silhouette, Change the blending mode of the top copy to “add” and apply a radial blur to it. Then animate the blur center, blur amount and opacity of the top layer to create your light spilling animation.

Trapcode Shine should also be able to do the job pretty effectively.
